Directions

The ceremony will take place in a church called Trans Kirke which is situated on the west coat of mainland Denmark (the Jutland peninsula on top of Germany) approximately 18 km or 11.2 miles from the city of Lemvig.

The following dinner will take place at Nørre Vinkel Hotel which is situated approximately 2 km or 1.3 miles from Lemvig.

On the 19^th of August we will arrange for transfer between Nørre Vinkel/Lemvig and Trans church – please let us know if you are interested. This should allow you to not care about drivign under the influence after too much bubbly at the church.

Getting to Lemvig

By car

From Billund airport – drive towards Herning then Holsebro and then Lemvig.

From Aarhus – drive towards Viborg, then Herning then Holstebro and then Lemvig.

From Southern Jutland or Funen – drive towards Vejle, then Herning then Holstebro and then Lemvig.

By plane

Aarhus, Esbjerg and Billund airports are all in the right end of the country, though none of them are close as the wedding is held in the most sparsely populated part of the kingdom. Both Sterling and SAS will take you to Billund. However, the cheaper alternative is to fly to Aarhus or Esbjerg airports with Ryanair which might cost you as little as £0.01 (before taxes!).

However, there is no denying of the fact that Lemvig, where the wedding will take place, is in the middle of nowhere (to all but the locals anyway) and the easiest and most comfortable way to get there is to fly into Billund and rent a car (1 hour and 50 minutes). Aarhus and Esbjerg airports are both further away but flight schedules may be better and while small, both airports do have a few rental companies operating from them.

However if you do want to try you luck with public transportation, please see the below directions. To get from Lemvig to Nørre Vinkel Hotel the easiest option is probably to hire a taxi for the last 2 km.

• Aarhus airport: Take the airport bus to the central train station in Aarhus (45 min), change to a train for Struer (2 hours). In Struer change to a bus (no. 23) for Lemvig (36 min.).
• - Esbjerg airport: Take a bus or a taxi to Esbjerg (10 min), change to the train for Skjern and get off in Vemb (2 hours). In Vemb change for the small train to Lemvig (30 min).
• - Billund airport: Take a bus (no 117) or taxi to Give (20 min), change to the train for Holstebro (1 hour). In Holstebro change for the bus to Lemvig (no. 24) (45 min).

By train

Please see train directions under “By plane”. If you are arriving from Southern Jutland or Funen you best option is to travel to Vejle and then to Holstebro, change for Vemb and then Lemvig.

Getting to Trans from Lemvig

Trans Kirke is situated approximately 18 km or 11.2 miles  west of Lemvig.

Getting to Nørre Vinkel from Lemvig

Nørre vinkel is situated in Lemvig Marina approximately 2 kilometres or 1.3 miles north of Lemvig train station. Drive towards the harbour, then north of the road called Strandvejen and turn right on Søgårdevejen.
